happy father's day!
well...today is father's day! happy father's day to all you father's out there. a father - the most important role to have on this earth. at least that's what i think. a father really shapes how one lives their lives. whether you believe it or not, the presence of a father is essential. since i'm a young lady, i thought i'd share with you guys why i think a father is important in his daughter's life based on my relationship with my dad. the saying “daddy's little girl” isn't just some made up idiom that hallmark puts on cards or macy's puts on t-shirts. a father carries major influence on his daughter. from what she wears, how she acts, to how she sees herself. for me, it's as if no one else's approval matters to me but my dad! if my dad doesn't like what i do, what i wear, or anything else, it really sits with me. i hate to disappoint the guy, despite what he thinks. the absence of the father in his daughter's life sometimes results negatively. she may seek approval in the wrong ways. she may not know what a man's love should be. she may grow to hate men. she may not even know what she's truly worth, etc etc. i've seen it and i know. my dad has taught me a lot of lessons. he has taught me how to be my best self. he has taught me the dos and don'ts of being a young lady. now of course some of these things can be taught by a mother, but i just think it means more coming from a man. it sits in a different way. older ladies know what i mean lol. anyways, i'm not gonna ramble on and on about this. the main thing is that a father is vital to his daughter's life, as well as his son. so, to my peers who will embark parenthood 10-15 years from now, make it your mission that your child has their father or a positive father figure in their life. and to my old heads out there, be in your child's life. they need you even if you (or them) think they don't. especially in this cruel world we live in today.
peace. ☀︎
