in New York i really rock 😉

so, this summer i was blessed with the opportunity of traveling to New York. it was my first time ever in the city and i had a blast. we took a 24hr bus ride there. it wasn't ideal, but i enjoyed it. before leaving i was dreading the bus ride because i've never been in a car or a plane for that long. the good thing about the bus ride was the bus had outlets, so i was able to stay all charged up 😂 . i know you guys probably don't wanna hear every single detail about the bus ride, so i'll spare you those.

New York is such a busy city. I totally understand the saying, "It's the city that never sleeps." The first night in the city we visited Liberty State Park, ate at Bubba Gump, and the Empire State Building. The food at Bubba Gump was okay; i guess i'm spoiled by Louisiana food!! the Empire State Building was pretty dope. there is just a little bit over one hundred floors. as I was riding the elevator up, my ears were popping just as they do when i'm on an airplane lol. the lights were beautiful and you could see so much of the city. it was AMazing!!

the next day we visited the Statue of Liberty, shopped in Times Square, ate at this restaurant called Star Dust, and saw the Broadway musical, School of Rock, live. the Statue of Liberty was pretty cool. it's tall af and apparently you can fit two of them in some other tall building 😂 i forgot what the tour guide said, so i apologize! we rode the Ellis Island Ferry, which was another first for me. i wasn't necessarily sea sick, but I could feel every movement of the boat. shopping in Times Square was a one of a kind experience for me! i love to shop, especially in stores that aren't in BR. we were on a time limit so I only bought shoes from Footlocker 😂. their Footlocker was nice with a very wide selection of shoes. it was two stories because they have all 3 stores in there -- Kids Footlocker, Lady Footlocker and Footlocker. the restaurant we ate at was entertaining and nothing i've ever seen before. the waiters/waitresses were aspiring Broadway actors/actresses that sing songs in between them waiting tables. the musical was absolutely my favorite part of the entire day. it was just like the movie with Jack Black. the kids were beyond talented and they had me tearing up. they actually played their instruments live on stage. the girl that played Alicia, her voice gave me chills!!!!

the next day we took a guided tour around New York. our tour guide showed us where many celebrities live, Brooklyn Bridge, some African shops, and we ate at a soul food restaurant in Harlem. i believe the name of the restaurant is Sylvia's. i got to see Central Park and many other places around the city. after the guided tour, we had some fun at Coney Island. i only rode two rides 😂 i spent the majority of my time waiting in line for food. the pictures i took are cute tho 😂
